"Le Bunnies" Early Learning Academy Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program provides a wide variety of planned activities centered on enabling four-year olds to be ready and be prepared for Kindergarten. VPK classes focus on school readiness and character development. Our curriculum is designed and implemented to meet the Florida Early Childhood Education Standards.
Kindergarten readiness is promoted through the following educational activities:
🟤Literacy: vocabulary and language, phonological awareness, letters, words, print, comprehension, library, and other texts.
🔴Mathematics: numbers, patterns and relationships, geometry and spatial awareness, measurement, data collection, organization and representation.
🟣Science: physical properties of objects, living things, earth and the environment.
🟡Social Studies: how people live and work together, socialization, cultural awareness, how surroundings shape us and the people in and out of our community.
🟢Arts: drawing, painting, dramatic play, dance, and music.
🔵Computer Skills: programs to enhance literacy and mathematical awareness.
🟠Processed Skills: observing and exploring, problem solving, connecting, organizing, communicating and representing information.
Children in our VPK program are screened using the Department of Education's assessment tools. We assess your children three times a year so that we can view your child's progress and work with your child in areas that need to be strengthened.
A partnership is developed between parents and teachers. Parents are given the scores from each assessment and the teaches will review the results as needed with the parents. We work with each family to set defined goals for your child to make sure your child is ready for kindergarten.
Studies have shown that children enrolled in a high quality pre-kindergarten program will not only prepare children for kindergarten but also help them reach their full potential in life. Children also experience significant cognitive gains and score higher on math and reading tests than children who have not received pre-k education
